Oban - Guided Town Walking Tours (finish at Dunollie Estate)
From: Oban's North Pier
Dates: By arrangement
Cost: £150 per guide
These tours will explore the town’s history and heritage visiting the town’s two Cathedrals and learning how the Victorian entrepreneurs shaped Oban’s development from a sleeping fishing village to one of Scotland’s most popular visitor destinations.
The tour will finish at Dunollie Estate and we recommend leaving sufficient ‘free time’ to explore the ancient seat of Clan MacDougall with a visit to the Castle for spectacular views and enjoy refreshments in the popular 1745 House museum café before you return to Oban. (Entry fee is not included.) Alternatively, you may opt to return to North Pier via the Witches Wood and Esplanade with your guide.

This is not set in stone but we usually advise no more than 12 people per guide for health and safety.

Guided Kerrera Hike - full day tour
From: Gallanach ferry terminal, Oban (or meet at North Pier Pontoon Gate if without transport)
Date: By arrangement
Cost: £250 per guide
The ‘Kerrera Island hike’ is a rough overland walking tour of the Isle of Kerrera exploring the ruins of Gylen Castle – an ancient MacDougall stronghold. This tour will start with a ferry from Gallanach to Kerrera.
The route back to Kerrera Marina involves rough hill and coastal paths and suitable footwear is required. There will be an opportunity for refreshments at Kerrera Tea Rooms (seasonal opening) before returning to Oban with your guide via the Gallanach ferry. Alternatively, guests may choose to leave the guided walk at this point and take the new tarmacadam road north (it’s the only road on the island so navigation is easy) and walk to the Kerrera Marina for a meal at the Waypoint (booking advised) and return directly to North Pier via the marina’s water taxi service
PLEASE NOTE THIS TOUR INVOLVES FERRY TICKETS - THESE CAN BE PURCHASED ON BOARD WITH A SMART PHONE, OR PURCHASED IN ADVANCE VIA THE MAIN FERRY TERMINAL IN OBAN.
CASH PURCHASES ARE NOT POSSIBLE ON THE FERRY.
